Day 1 - We drive to the volcanic Snæfellsnes peninsula which we will explore today. We'll make short stops at the spectacular beaches of Arnarstapi, Hellnar and Djúpalónssandur, before taking a de-tour to the roots of the towering Snæfellsjökull glacier. Optional snowcat ride to the top of the glacier (not included).

We'll wrap up the day passing through the colourful Berserkjahraun lava fields, before winding up in the charming town of Stykkishólmur. Overnight in Stykkishólmur town.

Day 2 - We take the morning ferry from Stykkishólmur to the southern Westfjords. Once we dock we drive all the way west to the massive Látrabjarg, which at over 400 meters vertical drop are Europe's highest bird cliffs. We'll spend some time walking along the cliffs which literally feel like the edge of the world. We'll also cover some of the more obsolete roads on the peninsula to ensure the very best aerial views of the beautiful cliffs and sands. Later in the day we visit Rauðisandur beach, one of Iceland's most serene and inspiring places, where we also stop for refreshments and a short walk. Overnight in Patreksfjörður town.?

Day 3 - Today we will explore the fantastic Arnarfjörður fjord. We pass the picturesque Bíldudalur village and then proceed east along the coastline. From there we ascend onto the Dynjandisheiði mountain pass and enjoy some truly spectacular views over Arnarfjörður, before stopping for a short hike to the majestic Dynjandi waterfall which is arguably Iceland's most beautiful waterfall. The icing on the cake is an unforgettable drive around the Svalvogar peninsula, part of which isn't even an official road built by the national road administration, instead it was carved out at the time by a stubborn local on a bulldozer. We'll be driving right along the beach under some sharp cliffs before we reach the village of Þingeyri, from where there is a short and scenic drive to Ísafjörður which is arguably Iceland's most picturesque town. Overnight in Ísafjörður town.

Day 4 - We drive from Ísafjörður through the serene and winding fjords of Ísafjarðardjúp bay, marvelling at the beauty of it all. From Steingrímsfjarðarheiði mountain pass we take an unexpected turn onto Þorskafjarðarheiði, a rough gravel patch which used to be the main road to Ísafjörður not so long ago. We'll descend back down to the main road and follow it all the way to Reykjavík - except for a nice and short de-tour onto Fellsströnd beach for great views of the ''uncountable islands'' of Breiðafjörður bay. We'll be in Reykjavík in time for dinner.

This is an express itinerary and the same sightseeing can not be covered in less time than four days, but we can add as many extra days as you like to slow down the pace of the trip and allow time for day tours & other local experiences along the way.
