Your tour is about you and depends on your individual interests and preferences, but below are our most popular private tours from Isafjordur:

Dynjandi Waterfall (5+ hours, 1st May to 31st October)

We start the tour by driving straight to Dynjandi, the majestic icon of the Westfjords. There we stop for up to an hour to enjoy the wonderful views of the waterfall and Arnarfjordur fjord, and listen to the soothing sound of Dynjandi tumbling down the mountain in a series of seven waterfalls. The top tier is certainly the most impressive but each one of the other six is unique in its own right!

We highly recommend doing the easy hike up to the top tier for a magnificent upfront view.

On our way back then extended tours can also stop at some of the following places, depending on the interests of the group:

- Hrafnseyri museum, the historical birthplace of Iceland's national hero Jon Sigurdsson

- The trail up to Sandafell mountain peak for great views over Dyrafjordur fjord (only on super jeep)

- The lonely beaches of northern Dyrafjordur fjord and the unique Skrudur botanical garden

- The golden beach of Holt in Onundarfjordur fjord

- The mountainside trail to Mosdalur valley (only on super jeep)

Isafjardardjup Bay (4+ hours, all year)

We travel into the picturesque Isafjardardjup Bay, which is famous for its beautiful sheltered fjords and towering mountains. The bay is particularly beautiful in winter and spring when the mountains are snowcapped and seasonal waterfalls tumble down the steep mountainsides.

Popular points along the way are the Hvitanes seal colony, the Arctic Fox Centre, and Litli-Baer farm which serves waffles & tea in a traditional setting.

A 7 hour version of this tour can include a dip in a relaxing geothermal hot pool, the perfect way to enjoy the raw natural beauty of the area while breathing in the pure air.

A 9 hour version of this tour can include a visit to the serene Kaldalon glacial creek, which is the best entrance for closeup views of the Drangajokull glacier and some of the best views over Isafjardardjup. The route to Kaldalon takes us via Snaefjallastrond (''snowy mountains beach'') where patches of snow close to sea level can usually be found even in late summer. Kaldalon is only reliably accessible from June-September.
